Induction Plug Quenching
Describe | A method of diffusing carbon in low carbon steels to increase the surface carbon concentration by 0.8% C or more, and then hardening by using high frequency process. This process advantage is minimize the amount of deformation by installing the plug inside the gear during high frequency quenching. |
---|---|
Characteristic | 1. Combination of induction hardening with Carburizing. (ensuring surface carbon concentration of 0.8% C or higher through low carbon steel) 2. Maintains toughness and improves surface wear resistance 3. Dimensional deformation management possible (correction effect) |
Technology |
- Automation ( Loading / Heating / Cooling ) - Decrease thermal strain applied to the plug |
